When Lauren Monroe first laid eyes on Michael Delaney back in high school, she had every reason to stay away from him; within minutes of their first encounter, his volatile actions confirmed his notorious reputation. But Lauren saw something in him that caused her to question his bad-boy persona, and against her better judgment, she took a chance. She had no way of knowing that the unlikely friendship they formed would become so important to her.

Or that it would end so painfully.

Eight years later, when Lauren begins her new job at Learn and Grow Day Care, Michael is the last person she expects to see. Refusing to revisit the hurt and confusion of their past, Lauren vows to keep her distance from him. But staying away from Michael proves to be more difficult than she thought, despite her lingering grief and her instincts for self-preservation.

As Lauren and Michael recall the friendship that changed them forever and the events that tore them apart, will they finally be able to heal? Or will the ghosts of Michael’s past prove to be too much to overcome?

The cover might seem a little bit insignificant. Just a normal lover's story..but I'm really amazed when I look this up on Goodreads and found out that it has 1,517 ratings  and an average of 4.32 of 5 stars 4.32  ....

what does this kind of cover has in store for us?

below, is the former cover of this book in paperback, I think though that I like this one better..
In terms of reading the book, I'm quite interested with the reviews and buzz going on in Goodreads.. If ever there's a chance, I'll give this book a go.
Preet rated it 5 of 5 stars false from A Written Rhapsody said:

This book is why I am absolutely loving the New Adult genre. I finally had the chance to deal with some 20-something problems, but didn't miss the angst of the teen years. Glenn weaves these two views so perfectly while unfolding the story that you anticipate going back to each while in the other. I was never confused or distracted when going into different settings because the characters held on to me so strongly that I wanted to go along for the ride and see what happened. What I also adored was how well characters were fleshed out without giving a lot of detail. It really helped understand why characters took certain paths because I could understand what lead them there.

  1. I am utterly floored that this is a debut novel. I won't be surprised if this book makes it onto best-seller lists. It was released recently but I just know that once people catch on and start reading it, its going to be huge!
